Do you show my film in the original aspect ratio?
Yes. All films that are on the cinema programme will be projected in the Scala Cinema on an HD projector, in the aspect ration you send to us. No letterbox needed.
However, the Music Video Bar Programme (videos that didn't make the cinema programme) is screened on widescreen TV monitors and for that, we need either a 16x9 FHA, 16:9 letterbox or a 4:3 version.
What's the 'Night Bar Programme'?
This is music videos out of competition.
In the bar area we will have 3
x 42" widescreen TV's, where a music video programme will run on a loop during the festival. Though not in competition it's great exposure for your video, since it's here everyone hangs out!
PAL or NTSC?
When you send in you high resolution copy of your film we only accept PAL, unfortunately we don’t have the resources to transfer your film from NTSC.
My film is not in English language?
No problem. You can enter as long as you submit your film with English subtitles.
I'm short-listed, what's next?
Once you are short-listed, you will be asked to send us a high resolution QuickTime on a disc or USB-stick.
We will ship back the USB after the festival.
What do I get if I win?
The beautiful Bornshorts award is what you'll win.
Made by the talented Baltic Seaglass people, it's
not a statuette, nor just a price but it's a piece of art.
To have a glimse of what it looks like, go the awards
page.
How much is it to attend the festival?
It's absolutely free if you have a film in the festival programme and you will get a free pass that gives you unlimited access to all screenings.
To get your free pass, please go to the Scala Cinema bar.
Everyone else will have to buy the festival pass Dkk. 125 (17 Euros, £15, $25), which you buy at the venue.
How do I purchase tickets?
